Art Supply presents a special workshop:
LET'S DO COLLAGE
with Simmon Factor
3 Sundays, March 7, 14, and 21 1-4pm , $35 for one session, $90
for all three classes
Sessions
are at Simmons comfortable studio near Spring Lake. Explore
collage, a versatile, accessible and enjoyable medium. You'll have
fun creating 2- & 3-D artworks by gluing photos, art papers,
and other objects to make fine art in an inspiring setting.
Discover the many adhesives available, their uses and characteristics
Learn to use acrylic paints and mediums, cutting tools, and
glues.
Create a fine art shadow box or altered book with decoupage.
Transfer images to various surfaces such as canvas, wood
and illustration board.
Simmon
Factor has been painting and doing collage for more than 30
years, creating hundreds of distinctive works. He studied art at
the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University
of Illinois and worked for many years in the graphic arts
field before founding Village Art Supply in 1993. Some of
his collages and paintings can be viewed at Village Art Supply.

YOUNG
AT ART with Chris Cramer
For children 6 to 12. Mondays 3:30-4:30. Starting February 3, Wednesdays
3:30-4:30 (ages 7-9) and 4:45-5:45 (ages 9-12)
Children will start off the new year drawing faces and their favorite
animals! They'll learn about perspective in landscapes, seascapes,
and still lives using step-by-step techniques. Artwork will
be enhanced with different medias and colors.
They'll also have fun sculpting 3 dimensional clay pieces and applying
ceramic glaze paint to create colorful kiln-fired works of art.
These make beautiful gifts and keepsakes.
$80 for 4 classes. Tuition is paid at beginning of each month.
All materials included. Classes begin Monday, January 4. Pre-register
at Village Art Supply .
The ABC's of Painting: Acrylics, Brushes and
Canvas
Saturdays 10:00am to noon and Thursdays 6-8pm. Instructor:
Simmon Factor
Open to ages 13 through adult, beginning through intermediate levels.
Acrylics may be the perfect medium for you rich, brilliant,
easy to use, non-toxic and very fast drying. They're versatile and
can be used like either oils or watercolors or mixed with other
materials for collage or special effects. We study color, composition
and mixed-media while exploring portraiture, realism, and abstraction.
This class is ideal for the beginner, as well as for experienced
artists who want new challenges and to expand on their foundations.
$30 per class, or $100 for four lessons. Class size is limited.

CLAY
SCULPTURE with Sharon Kozel
Thursdays 10am-12:30 and Sundays 1-3:30
Create fun and interesting projects from start to finish, including
firing. Beginning to advanced.
$180 for 6 classes, $45 materials fee (includes clay, use of tools,

MANGA
CARTOONING with Emily Martin
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6pm
Learn Japanese-style cartooning from concept to finished story.
